#CyberNorth Insight Seminar | From Breach to Recovery: Lessons from Instructure & SUNET — The Attack on the LMS Canvas
Why this webinar?
While some information was shared during and after the attack on the LMS platform Canvas, many students, educators, and cybersecurity professionals were left with questions. What actually happened? How were decisions made? What lessons can be learned? As educators and students in cybersecurity, we simply asked the organisations at the centre of the attack whether they would be willing to share their experiences with the broader cybersecurity community. To their credit, both Instructure and SUNET immediately responded with openness and a willingness to contribute.

Rather than focusing on headlines or speculation, this session offers a unique opportunity to learn directly from those involved, reflect on the technical, organisational, legal, and ethical challenges they faced, and discuss the lessons that can help strengthen our collective cybersecurity resilience. Cybersecurity attacks will continue to happen. By sharing experiences and lessons learned, we can better prepare the next generation of cybersecurity professionals for the realities they will face in practice.
This seminar is arranged as an initiative by the Master's Programme in Cybersecurity at Luleå University of Technology, a partner in Cybercampus Sweden, in collaboration with #CyberNorth.

Representatives from Instructure and SUNET will participate in the seminar and share their perspectives, experiences, and reflections on the attack on the Canvas LMS platform. Questions from Participants: Participants are welcome to submit questions in advance when registering.
